Guests can enjoy the half hour “Fantail Trail” through ferns, cool mossy bush and tall Ash trees, or a 2 hour hike on old main road into tree plantations and bush.
Freshen up with a dip in the pool, watch the sunset & enjoy a cool drink. Explore the nearby Conway Flat coastline (check tides for the best & safest times to go).
The highlight of a day trip to Kaikoura can be a walk along the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway (though that’s not a dog friendly option).

Kaikoura is under an hour away and within 30 minutes you’re driving along a spectacular coastline with views of Seaward Kaikouras dipping into the Pacific Ocean. Many and varied options for cafes and shops.

Hanmer - about an hour’s drive to Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve * bungy jumping * jetboating, and many options in terms of restaurants, cafes and some interesting retail shops.
Cheviot and Gore Bay - In Cheviot you’ll find a selection of cafes and restaurants like the new No.8 Cafe, or the Trust Hotel. Be sure to stop at the Domain to stretch your legs if continuing on to Gore Bay Cathedrals.
